Does Your Child Benefit from an Individualized Treatment Plan?
When an individual is diagnosed with autism, the primary recommendation by healthcare professionals is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, which helps improve social communication and learning skills through positive reinforcement. Experts consider ABA to be the gold-standard treatment for children with autism and can also help those with ADHD and intellectual disabilities.
For each of our clients at Touchstone ABA, we design and implement an individualized treatment plan to personalize goals and outcomes.
How We Write and Implement Individualized Treatment Plans for ABA Therapy Assessment
The first step in working with our clients is to conduct a thorough assessment to understand the child’s unique needs, strengths and challenges. We use standardized tools and parent/caregiver interviews to gather comprehensive information.
Goal Setting
With this information in hand, we develop SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound) goals tailored to each child’s developmental level and individual needs. We prioritize goals based on immediate needs and long-term outcomes.
Implementation
As we implement our plan for each child, we design interventions that address the child’s unique behaviors, strengths and preferences. We incorporate strategies that align with the child’s natural environments and daily routines.
Touchstone’s Commitment to CABAS® in ABA Therapy
Touchstone takes a rigorous approach to training and certifying its clinical team to provide expert care and treatment. We use the CABAS® model (Comprehensive Application of Behavior Analysis to Schooling), which integrates scientifically tested, research-based practices to accelerate individual rates of learning. In simple terms, we utilize the best models available to teach complex skills in a structured manner.
During treatment, it’s important for us to create a structured learning environment that supports consistent and effective instruction. This can be in one of our six centers, at home or in the classroom during the school day.
Tracking Data
It’s critical to the success of any treatment plan to collect and analyze data to monitor progress and make data-driven decisions to adjust treatment and ensure goals are being met.
Throughout our intervention with clients, we are flexible and adapt treatment plans as needed based on each child’s progress and changing needs. We use feedback from therapists, families and the child to make necessary adjustments.
Collaboration
At Touchstone, we put a big emphasis on family collaboration. We engage with families to ensure that treatment plans reflect their concerns, goals and insights. We also provide training and support to families to help them implement strategies at home to promote generalization.
Additionally, caregiver education opportunities are offered by Touchstone in a group setting monthly or discussions can be scheduled individually at the family’s request. Another critical component to our success is professional collaboration. We promote open communication between our clients’ teachers, therapists and families, as well as other healthcare providers to create a cohesive approach. We believe in sharing progress and data to support the child’s development across different settings.
