Staff Spotlight: Paula White, M.Ed, BCBA, LBA, CABAS Teacher 2

Paula began her career as a Certified Special Elementary Education Teacher in 1988, having graduated cum laude from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She received her masters degree in Learning Disabilities from Nicholls State in 1993. Paula’s first seven years of her career were spent as a special education teacher in the Terrebonne Parish School system where she also earned her certification as an Educational Diagnostician.  During that time, Paula was awarded the Special Education Teacher of the Year award. She then worked for ten years as an Educational Diagnostician followed by nine years as an Autism Specialist for the district.

Paula was introduced to ABA by Dr Grant Gautreaux while he provided consultation services for the school district where she was the Autism Specialist. That introduction to the science led to Paula completing her Plus 30 hours in High Incidence Disabilities/ABA in 2011 and she became a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst in 2012.   Paula began with Touchstone as the site supervisor for the Houma location in 2014.

She is a model for a personal commitment to continuous education and adherence to the science of behavior analysis. She has participated in numerous research projects over the years and has served as a mentor for many students pursuing behavior analysis as a profession.

Paula is currently a member of the Parent Collaboration team for Touchstone, using her expertise and compassion to support our families during their ABA journey with us.
