Navigating Summer Plans for Kids with Autism from Touchstone BCBA Angela Moran

For kids diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the school year is stressful enough, but summer is all new territory. About one in 68 children are diagnosed with ASD, which means they have varying degrees of functionality communicating and socializing with the world around them. Beyond that, there are many children who struggle in general with much of what the summer hands them – a change in routine, unfamiliar settings, less structure in their day and the like.
