Hurricane Ida – Services Update
September 9, 2021
Touchstone Families,
I am saddened by the devastating losses many of our families and staff are experiencing because of Hurricane
Ida. I want to give you an update on our centers and current services. Touchstone is working around the clock to
resume ABA services for your loved ones.
Thibodaux/Houma: Both centers are currently closed and unusable due to damage. We are working on securing
a temporary location to resume in-center services. In-home services may be provided. We should have a location
identified very soon.
Hammond: The Hammond center is closed and is being assessed for damages. In-home services may be
provided. An alternative location is also being considered.
New Orleans: St. Michael School will be open on Monday, September 13. ABA services will resume on
Monday. Foundation Prep and other Orleans parish schools have reported damage and will likely not be open by
Monday. For our clients at Foundation Prep and other Orleans schools, in-home services may be provided.
Baton Rouge: St. Lillian Academy is fully operational.
Lafayette: The center is fully operational.
In-Home Services: Across all affected sites, where staff are available and clients are accessible, we are trying to
coordinate in-home services. The health and safety of our clients and our staff remain our number one
priority. To be eligible for in- home services, all family members in the home at the time of services must be
COVID-19 vaccinated if eligible. Only staff that are COVID-19 vaccinated can provide services in the home. We
appreciate your understanding of these criteria for in-home services.
I am confident Touchstone ABA will not only meet the challenges faced in our region but rise above them. I am
proud of our Touchstone ABA team and they are working together to turn these challenges into opportunities for
success for your children.
